The five front left wheel hub nuts on early ford trucks have a lefthand thread. You need a 1.5 inch (1 1/2) wrench to remove them. Turn wrench clockwise.
Same for left real wheel on all non dually axles.
The OEM Part No. of the nut is BB1121.
One reason an engine is burning oil could be a broken or clogged PCV valve. "PCV" stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. Every engine produces blow-by, which means when an engine is running and the gases (fuel/air mix) are compressed in the combustion chamber, a small amount of gas pass the piston rings and leak into the crankcase. This causes a rise of pressure in the crankcase. The PCV release the pressure by venting the crankcase combustion gases back to the intake. Now the gases re-enter the combustion chamber where they are burned.
Part II of the Ford Flathead identification article. After we handled all 21 stud engines, the 60 HP and the monster 337cui engines, we'll look closer to all 24 stud engines in this part. The american Ford V8 24 stud Flatheads where build from 1938 to 1953. The displacement is 221, 239 or 255 cubic inch. The biggest problem in identifying: all engines look very similar.
A very scarce Packard "Twin Six" engine is for sale on ebay. This engine is one out of 549 ever build. The 445 cui engine has 160 HP and was used in Packard Model 905 and Model 906 cars. The Twin Six was introduced in 1932 and ousted only one year later by the Packard Twelve.
